Take a deep breath!
Trust me I get it. If you've been diagnosed with this beast, I truly understand your frustration. One symptom leads to another that causes another and sooner or later you end up feeling like a walking, talking bag of health issues. The fact that many women suffer from this is NOT reassuring. I'm legit laughing at how so many articles state this as if it was a comforting fact. Yes, many women are diagnosed with PCOS, however, there is still no cure, and doctors still have no real answers to the cause or how to properly treat it.
Here is what I found in the simplest of terms:
You only need to be diagnosed with 2 of the following:
excessive hair growth (chin, chest, belly, and/or back)
polycystic ovaries (only determined by an ultrasound)
irregular painful menses/ anovulation
Adopting a keto or low carb diet is super beneficial. Before I learned of my condition, I was able to conceive (Unfortunately, I lost it.) At the time, I had no clue that my keto diet was helping to reverse my symptoms and set me on the right track to motherhood. Sugar is literally the cause of so many ailments, this alone has made it that much easier to look at it differently and be quicker to just say, "Nope."
After searching this, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that I fit the description of a typical contestant to this horrendous prize. However, I still went in to get checked and confirmed. What I did find was that my ovaries were not polycystic (Hallelujah!); I did, however, confirm that I could not ovulate. As much as I hate going to hospitals, I knew I had to suck it up and confirm my findings so I can rule out the unnecessary factors. I've recently been making major changes in my overall health, and I promised myself that if I could figure this out, I would help as many women as I could. If you haven't already, join the Lil Blk Sheep herd on YouTube. I will be updating everyone with this unruly journey that I'm sure will lead to bliss, God willingly :-).
